Work to improve Douglas river flow

Work is starting today to improve the water flow in one of the rivers in Douglas.

Manx Utilities says contractors will be out to clear gravel and vegetation from the River Glass near the National Sports Centre.

The authority says as well as improving water flow in the channel it's also looking to tackle the Japanese Knotweed in the area.

Officials have taking to social media this week releasing details of its plan of action.
