Work begins on costly housing scheme in Jurby

The area of land where the bungalows will be situated

Development will see four bungalows built on plot close to Bretney Estate

Work has now begun on the construction of a housing development in Jurby which could pave the way for future housing schemes in the surrounding area.

This initial project will see four bungalows built next to the Bretney Estate; they’ll be allocated to older residents.

The works mark the progression of the Isle of Man Government’s programme of affordable housing development which has seen the completion of over 600 new homes during the 5 years of the current Government Plan.

The development is costing £755,000 in total.

A planning application has also been submitted for six apartments on plots in the Bretney Estate which its expected will follow on from the completion of these properties.
