A woman who refused to enter a plea to charges against her, telling magistrates they don’t apply to her, will appear in court again in June.
Shem Heather Allanson of no fixed abode appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
She’s charged with obstructing a coroner and failing to comply with a court order to submit a 2019 tax return.
In court, the 58 year old refused to stand in the dock until the bench explained her case would go ahead without her.
Representing herself, she told the court she was a living woman rather than a legal fiction and would not enter a plea to the charges.
She also claimed she was being coerced and held as a slave by the bench.
A not guilty plea was entered on her behalf, and magistrates bailed her in the sum of £500 to appear in court again on June 24.
