A woman who kicked and spat at police officers has narrowly avoided being sent to jail.
Jessica Marguerita Radcliffe of Cushag Road in Douglas appeared before Deputy High Bailiff James Brooks at Douglas Courthouse.
At an earlier hearing, the 32 year old pleaded guilty to two counts of assaulting police, three counts of obstructing officers and one each of threatening behaviour and being drunk and disorderly.
Prosecutor Hazel Carroon told the court Radcliffe, the ex-girlfriend of Jetski Romeo Dale McLaughlan, was in her garden when police arrived to arrest her on April 24.
She turned aggressive and gripped one officers arm, leaving marks with her nails, before kicking another officer in the head as she was taken to a police van.
She shouted foulmouthed threats until officers used Pava spray to subdue her.
After hearing she'd served a prison sentence for a violent offence last year, Mr Brooks told her she was very close to being sent back.
However, he imposed a six-month jail term suspended for two years, fined her £200 and ordered her to pay £250 costs and a total of £500 compensation.
