The Treasury will give out cash payments to around 2,300 vulnerable people to help them stay warm over winter.
Lump sums of around £300 will be given to pensioners, disabled residents and others who receive means-tested income support next month.
The annual 'Winter Bonus' is designed to help people meet higher heating payments during the coldest months of the year.
The government added those entitled don't need to claim it as it will be paid into accounts automatically.
