Will government echo UK copyright laws?

Government is deciding whether or not to follow the UK's new copyright laws.

The government there is making a number of changes including legalising the duplication of copyrighted material for personal use and a relaxation of parody copyright laws.

It's also extending the law for legitimate use of material copied for research and private study and in providing modified works to people with disabilities.

Tynwald has made a number of changes to copyright law in the last 18-months - bringing the Island in line with the UK and the European Union.
