The Manx Wildlife Trust is hoping the predicted hot summer will result in more basking shark sightings.
Last year’s mixed weather saw sightings plummet, affecting the research work carried out by the team.
It left them with a surplus of satellite tags, which they hope to be able to attach this year.
Marine officer Lara Howe says they are nearing a landmark of ten years of research - which once collated enables them to determine where the elusive creatures go in the winter season:
