Manx National Heritage says it'll start cleaning up a historical monument as soon as it can - and is urging the public not to try themselves.
Earlier, the organisation said it had reported the damage caused by spray-painted grafitti at Hango Hill to police.
But it's warning people well-intentioned attempts to clean it themselves could cause further harm to the stonework.
And it adds when police are finished collecting evidence, it will begin the work of clearing up the tags from the stone.
