The Curraghs Wildlife Park has sadly announced that their male fishing cat, Benny, has passed away.
The average lifespan for the cats is 10-12 years old – he was 12 and a half.
Benny was diagnosed with osteoarthritis last year which he received pain relief for, but suddenly went of his food before passing away.
The park still has a female fishing cat and hopes for some younger cats to move in as they’d like to continue with this endangered species.
