A warrant's been issued to arrest a man who allegedly abandoned his dog when he left the Island.
58 year old David Neil Savage is accused of causing unnecessary suffering to an animal.
Magistrates heard he left his pet called Murphy at his former home in Crosby when he left the island - the dog was found in such a poor state that he had to be put to sleep.
Mr Savage, who is now said to live at Regent Street, Long Eaton, Nottingham, was due to appear before magistrates at Douglas courthouse but failed to turn up.
A warrant was issued for his arrest.
