Parents on the Isle of Man are given enough notice to allow them to plan holidays around school terms.
That's the message from the Department of Education and Children.
It follows last week's Supreme Court ruling which saw a UK father, who took his daughter out of school without permission, lose his legal battle over her unauthorised absence.
On the Island pupils may be granted leave of absence for holiday at the headteacher's discretion - although no more than 10 days would be given in a school year.
