The Drug and Alcohol Team is warning that people shouldn’t underestimate how easy it is to become dependent on prescription medication.
It’s a problem that’s been highlighted on the Island recently.
Last week a Coroner ruled that a Douglas teenager had, in part, committed suicide after becoming addicted to Valium which she was buying off the street.
Police have also warned that young people are taking the medication socially.
