Trying to buy a bottle of vodka while subject to a licensing ban has cost a Douglas man £150.
58 year old Barry Corkill of Laburnum Avenue in Pulrose was banned from buying alcohol in June, but went into the Co-op on Woodbourne Road in Douglas on September 5.
He bought a bottle of vodka before staff realised he was banned - they refunded his purchase and contacted police.
Appearing before magistrates this week, Corkill admitted attempting to breach a licensing order - he was fined £100 and ordered to pay £50 prosecution costs.
