Plans have been lodged to create a new educational and visitor centre in Castletown.
A planning application has been submitted to convert part of Lorne House, on Douglas Street, into space for 'functions, exhibitions and tourism'.
The idea is the brainchild of businessman, and Callow's Yard owner, Roy Tilleard and his wife Susan.
The couple, who now live in St Saviour in Guernsey, own the property and say they would provide support to the new operation.
If successful two bedrooms on the first floor would be converted - five full time members of staff would be employed and casual labour brought in when required.
Normal business hours have been proposed except for when functions are taking place.
The application, which is currently pending consideration, says a local operator is 'set up and ready to move' on the plans if approved.
