Victim Support praise domestic abuse victims for 'coming forward'

Increased levels of domestic violence on the Isle of Man should not be seen as wholly negative as it means more people are reporting the crime.

That's according to Victim Support manager Paula Gelling who says too many people have been suffering in silence.
 
The Chief Constable's Annual Report saw a significnant decrease in the level of recorded crime overall - however there was a spike in cases of domestic violence and sexual abuse.
 
Paula says there has been a real change in attitude over the last 10 years that has contributed to more victims coming forward:
