Vessel encounters problems in force 8 winds

Peel lifeboat assist struggling vessel over the weekend

Peel lifeboat had to be launched over the weekend to assist a vessel in distress off the north of the Island.

They were called out in the early hours of Saturday to help out an ex-Liverpool Pilot cutter that had suffered a fractured fuel pipe.

It was struggling in the force 8 winds, having just two crew members on board.

It was eventually located 10 miles south of the Mull of Galloway.

The vessel was eventually brought safely alongside Peel breakwater at 5.45am, both crew remained on board throughout.
