Patients who travel off Island for UK hospital treatment will be able to book a Covid-19 vaccination from next week.
That's the latest update from the government who say priority daily vaccination slots will be made available from Monday.
The vaccines will be done, if possible, prior to transfer to the UK - currently escorts will not be offered the vaccination.
The type of vaccination required will be determined by the relevant medical professional directly involved in the patient’s care - either be a UK consultant or their GP.
The patient will need to get this confirmation and send to the Patient Transfer Office at patient.transfers@gov.im - they will then collate the information with the 111 team and contact the patient to book for the vaccine.
Due to current Level 5 border restrictions all returning patients are required to self-isolate for a minimum of 14 days and adhere to the new COVID testing regime.
