An announcement on restoring a direct Scottish air link to and from the Island will be made before Christmas.
That’s the promise from the Economic Development Minister who says discussions are ongoing.
Government representatives have been meeting with potential operators since July.
Talks are currently centred on a twice daily service which would be supported by a marketing campaign from the department.
John Shimmin hasn’t confirmed which airport the route would fly into but is ruling out using the recently nationalised Prestwick Airport
