The Island's Trades Union Council has hit out after the government appealed for drivers to cover during strike action.
On its Facebook page, the TUC says it rejects the statement a strike is inevitable, saying the government could resolve the issues and avert industrial action.
The organisation has questioned an appeal for anyone who holds a PSV licence to come forward, saying its members have safeguarding, criminal background checks, compliance and training - and contingency plans should meet those same standards.
In its statement, it says if government can put contingency plans in place quickly, it should be able to make a credible offer to resolve the row.
