Green Lane (between Sartfell Road and Ballacurn Road) is currently closed due to an unexploded ordnance.
Police say the closure applies to pedestrians and cyclists as well as vehicles.
The constabulary says a team is on the way to deal with this safely.
It's expected the road will re-open tomorrow.
