Figure Stays at 1.8%
At the end of October unemployment on the Island remained at 1.8% of the economically active population.
That’s a drop of 135 people from the same month last year but a slight increase of 5 on last month.
Treasury Minister Anne Craine said the latest unemployment statistics show that the Island’s economy is continuing to hold up well but there is no room for complacency in these matters.
The unemployment rate still compared very favourably with that of the UK’s rate of 4.8%.
