UK hospitals assisted with CJD care

Noble’s Hospital was given assistance from medical centres in the UK after a patient was infected with a rare form of CJD.

Health authorities confirmed they had treated an individual for sporadic CJD, which affects just one in every million people.

It’s the same virus that produces conditions like mad cow disease, although this version is not infectious or a threat to the public.
