The Department of Infrastructure says pothole repairs in Port St Mary aren't pretty - but they're only temporary.
Rushen MHK Juan Watterson asked the DOI about the quality of the work after residents complained about patching in Park Road and High Street.
In its response, the department said the work was done as a temporary fix and acknowledged it "doesn't look good on the eye".
But it added the fix was for safety reasons until its staff can close the road to do the work properly.
