Deputy returning officers in elections could be getting a pay rise of more than 25 per cent for the coming general election.
When Tynwald sits later this month, members will be asked to approve new fees for officials involved in organising general elections.
Where House of Keys seats are uncontested, fees will rise from £3,240 to £4,003 - but in the event of a vote, deputy returning officers will get £13,245 compared to the current figure of £10,720.
The Treasury says fees haven't risen since 2021 and the increases reflect inflation since the last election.
