Tynwald Day petitioner calls for children's commissioner

A Tynwald Day petitioner is calling for a committee to be set up to look at how redundancies and recruitment are handled within government.

Chris Thomas is one of only three people who presented petitions for redress of grievance at this year’s ceremony.

Another calls for a change in the law regarding building surveys which are carried out ahead of a property sale.

Graham Nash believes the responsibility should lie with the seller and not the buyer, as it is at the moment.

The third petitioner Stephen Holmes is asking government for a Children’s Commissioner to be appointed on the Island.
