Ten years after all government nurseries were closed down, Tynwald has approved a new strategy it says will improve childcare on the Island.
In 2012, 11 government-run nurseries were replaced with a voucher system it said would give parents greater choice.
However, a report says the system created too much demand and rising prices which has forced many to leave work to look after their youngsters.
The new strategy, approved this week, features plans to review and investigate ways to improve the current system - including proposals to encourage parents back to work.
