Trades Union Council Want Tynwald Pay Reviews Open to Public Scrutiny and Comment
The Isle of Man Trades Union Council has written to the Chief Minister requiring a public review of the Tynwald pay package.
The TUC have requested that any future or impending pay reviews for Tynwald members be made public and open to scrutiny and comment.
It’s off the back of the new Coalition Government in the UK taking a 5% voluntary pay cut.
TUC President Angela Moffatt has accused the members of being the only group of people on the Island who have thus far avoided feeling the pinch financially.
It’s the TUC’s aim to have the right to determine what wages they receive taken away from the Politicians and handed over to an independent body, which can take into consideration the feedback from the public.
