TT zero drop 'will help industry catch up'

The dropping of the TT zero will give time for the motorcycle industry to catch up on 'leading edge developments'.

That's according to MHK Rob Callister, after it was announced the TT Zero class won't be held over the next two years with the Department for Enterprise saying running the category has become 'increasingly challenging'.

Mr Callister adds the government is working to reduce the environmental impact the racing fortnight can have and zero emissions bikes will have a part to play in the future.

The zero class started in 2010 showcasing prototype all-electric machines from mainstream developers and university teams but has suffered a drop in entries.
