The Department for Enterprise says TT visitors spent an average of £1,015 each during this year's festival.
The figures have been released in response to a Freedom of Information request about visitors and how much they spend.
In its reply, the department published the results of a visitor survey carried out by Hampshire-based TSE research this year.
The figures show those coming to the TT were most likely to be from the UK or Ireland, aged between 40 and 60, and staying in tents.
