A TT visitor has appeared in court accused of dousing a German biker in lighter fluid and threatening to set light to him.
Paul Samuels of Mikasa Street in Barrow in Furness appeared High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas Courthouse via a live videolink from the Isle of Man Prison.
The 44 year old welder is charged with criminal damage, administering a noxious substance and making threats to kill at St John's Football Club's campsite on June 8 but hasn't yet entered any pleas.
Prosecutor Barry Swain told the court that Samuels complained about noise at 11pm, but thought they were pretending not to understand him.
He's said to have offered to fight them, shouting and swearing before grabbing a bottle of fuel and pouring it over their tent and one of the group.
They called police when Samuels produced a lighter and threatened to set fire to their friend.
He was bailed in the sum of £1,000 with a £5,000 surety paid into court by his girlfriend, and banned from returning to the Island unless it's for a court appearance.
He's next due in court on August 10.
