TT rider team truck found with drugs onboard

Motor racing transporters are to face tougher scrutiny at UK customs after a large quanitity of drugs were found oboard the trucks of a Superbike World Championship team.

The vehicle belonged to Paul Bird Motorsport, who bring racers to the Isle of Man TT races, including Micheal Dunlop this year.

They have released a statement saying that the banned substances were deposited in a race transporter while the vehicle was in Holland last month.

A spokesperson from the UK Border Agency says motor sport vehicles will be checked more closely in the future.
