The Department of Infrastructure says Ramsey Swing Bridge will stay closed to vehicles for the time being - because its timber deck is rotting.
The department says it's inspected the deck and found a hole in the northern end of the bridge which means it's not safe for vehicles.
It plans to design a fix which not only solves the problem, but also matches the original bridge.
But on Facebook, the DOI says it's likely to remain closed to vehicles until at least the middle of the summer.
