Hundreds of Matt Chranch's friends have been posting touching tributes on a Facebook Page which has been set up in his memory.

One school friend said 'A Happy Chappy, made me smile even on a bad day.' Another has paid tribute saying 'I will truely miss the man the legend Matt cranch the one person I thought he was on the same level as me.'

Matt, who turned 24 in February, grew up in the Isle of Man where his parents and older sister still live.

He moved to Newquay over four years ago and died during a stunt in Kent on Monday.

3FM have been speaking to Sam Waugh, who he grew up with in Onchan. He said Matt had a trademark smile that you would never forget. (audio above)

Sam said he is hoping to set up an Island event in memory of his best friend.

His parents have been informed and a post-mortem examination is due to take place later this week.

Maidstone police are investigating why a safety net failed at a daredevil show.
