Tributes paid to former Onchan MHK and MLC

Ray Kniveton had served Onchan as a commissioner, MHK and MLC since 1988.

Tributes have been paid to former Onchan MHK and MLC Ray Kniveton who died suddenly on Tuesday evening aged 78.

Mr Kniveton was a commissioner from 1988 to 1994 when he was elected to the House of Keys in Onchan.

He served there until 1998 when he was elevated to the Legislative Council, before standing down in February 2005.

Mr Kniveton then returned to Onchan Commissioners in 2009.
