 
                                    Tributes have been paid locally to the screen legend John Hurt who has died after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
The 77-year-old was the guest of honour at the Isle of Man Film Festival in 2015 - appearing at the Gaiety Theatre with film critic Mark Kermode.
Hurt's career which spanned six decades and won him four Baftas - including for his role in The Elephant Man in 1980:
In a statement on Facebook the organisers of the Isle of Man event say he was a "true gent" and "so generous with his time".
