Trees to be planted supporting climate movement

200 trees will be planted in the South of the Island this weekend in support of a global movement for tackling climate change.

Isle of Man Woodland Trust is teaming up with Isle of Man Friends of the Earth for the first planting of the season at 10.30am on Sunday at Keyll Garey near to Ballabeg.

The trust says it's being done as part of 'The Global Week of Action for the Climate and Ecological Emergency' - an international campaign running from Friday (September 20) for seven days.

Elsewhere, the IOM Student Climate Network is set to stage a protest outside Tynwald on Friday urging for government action on the matter.
