An overhanging tree means the main route from the south to Douglas will close today.
The Department of Infrastructure says the tree, near the Fairy Bridge, is unsafe and urgently needs cutting down.
The work means the New Castletown Road will be shut from 9.15am to around 3pm.
Motorists will be diverted via the Old Castletown Road at Blackboards and Oatlands Road.
