Part of the Mountain Road will be closed for much of Thursday while emergency work takes place.
The Department of Infrastructure says the section is due to remain shut until around 3.30pm.
It says its contractors need to carry out work on trees near the Waterworks.
As a result, the route will be shut between Barrule Park in Ramsey and the Bungalow.
