The Treasury will ask for Tynwald's backing for a public consultation about the future of pensions next month.
When the court sits in April, Treasury Minister Alex Allinson will put a motion to the court about the National Insurance Fund and pensions.
It's after the government dropped plans to scrap the triple-lock system which sees pensions increase by inflation, average wage rises or a fixed percentage each year.
Dr Allinson will ask members to support a consultation that will look into sustainable and fair state pensions.
