Treausry Minister Eddie Teare has given government’s stance on the decision to remove funding from drugs charity DASH.
The Ayre MHK said Social Care’s decision to remove their funding last year came down to them identifying a service was needed that provided a broader range of addiction help.
The DSC have come under fire for their decision with MHK’s and those linked to DASH claiming those with drug problems will not want to make use of the Motiv8 charity as they will lose their anonymity.
Minister Teare said the decision had nothing to do with personalities and was purely down to meeting the needs of those with addiction problems.
