The government says an administrative error in Treasury resulted in Andreas residents being charged the wrong rates.
Around 750 properties were charged at the incorrect rate of 175.4p for the coming year.
Treasury's now sending out a letter asking for the correct amount of 181.7p, and apologising for the mistake.
It adds only people who pay rates to Andreas Commissioners are affected, not any other local authority.
