Driving home from a party while more than two and a half times the alcohol limit has cost a man more than £1,800.
Samuel Hudson of Meadow Crescent in Douglas appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
He pleaded guilty to drink-driving on Alberta Drive in Onchan just before 10pm on December 18.
Prosecutor Rebecca Cubbon told the hearing other motorists rang police after spotting the 39 year old's Toyota Yaris veering across the road and driving extremely slowly.
Police spotted Hudson and followed him before pulling him over - he was obviously drunk and was arrested.
Matthew Wilshaw, defending, said Hudson had made a reckless decision to drive after leaving a house party where he'd been drinking.
After hearing he had no previous convictions, magistrates said they'd treat the incident as a one-off.
They fined him £1,700, ordered him to pay £125 costs and banned him from driving for three years.
