A court's heard a restaurant manager who crashed into a wall while parking his car on Christmas Day was almost three times over the legal alcohol limit.
Mahmoud Hassan of Albion Terrace in Douglas appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas Courthouse.
Prosecutor Roger Kane told the hearing a neighbour rang police after spotting the 38-year-old stumbling out of his car and into his home at around 9.30pm.
Officers arrived and found his car had sustained damage to its front end, consistent with hitting a nearby wall.
Hassan's advocate told the court he'd been drinking whiskey at a staff party at his restaurant, where he's a designated official, before making the decision to drive home.
Mrs Hughes told him his alcohol reading had been extremely high, saying he shouldn't have been anywhere near a vehicle.
She ordered him to do 100 hours of community service and pay £125 costs as well as banning him from the roads for three years.
