Loss of Business Could Force Review Into Passenger Services
Mezeron/Dohle recently introduced a daily lift on-lift off service using two vessels.
Steam Packet Chief Executive Mark Woodward has said on his blog that there is now a need to take a good look at the passenger services on offer, with the possibility of a scaling back in order to make up the deficit brought about by a loss of business.
As it stands the money brought in from their freight services has been crucial in maintaining their frequent and competitive passenger services and fares.
Mr Woodward said the Steam Packet has been sailing Manx Waters for 180 years and he fully intends to counter this latest threat to the companies services.
