A local Dog has succesfully undergone a hip replacement, after a 'Just Giving' page raised thousands of pounds.
In August last year, Stacey Cleator - who lives on Island - rescued Dog Benji from North Macedonia.
When she found the pup had severe hip dysplasia, she decided it was her mission to raise £8,000 to allow Benji to have both hips replaced, and be able to live a 'life free from pain.'
In an update on the just giving page, Stacey has confirmed Benji has had his first replacement done - with all going well and the pooch recovering at home.
She says her beloved Pet 'still has a long way to go' and has thanked everyone for their support and well wishes.
