A thief who walked out of a Douglas shop wearing a pair of stolen trainers will be sentenced next month.
31-year-old Andrew Hall pleaded guilty to the theft during an appearance at Douglas Courthouse last week.
The Douglas man entered Whistles on Strand Street on December 15th last year and selected a pair of 'Jack and Jones' trainers valued at £45.
Magistrates were told he took off his own shoes to try them on and began walking around the shop - he then left without making any attempt to pay for them.
Hall, who resides at David Grey House, left his own shoes behind in the process - the incident was captured on CCTV and he was later arrested.
His advocate told the court it was an "opportunistic offence" and requested a Social Enquiry Report before sentencing.
Hall will be sentenced on February 23rd - he's been bailed until that date.
