It comes as government have today advised anyone invited to register for a jab not to ring the 111 service until Saturday due to 'unprecedented' levels of calls to the service.
Mr Ashford adds the 111 service is working hard to process enquiries and DHSC is working on an online solution to assist this.
The request to delay calling the line is only for vaccine appointments - anyone with Covid-19 symptoms should still report them to 111 as normal.
