Tesco are keen to have someone come to the Island 'very soon' to have talks with local suppliers.
That's according to Enterprise Minister Tim Johnston, who says the supermarket giant has confirmed its commitment to suppliers on the Island.
It comes following the news that the chain will be taking over all nine Shoprite stores, which has sparked fear among some Manx producers.
Mr Johnston says the signs from Tesco so far are all 'very positive,' as it has made a commitment to engage with local businesses and identify opportunities for the future.
He adds that suppliers here should ensure they have Safe And Local Supplier Approval (SALSA), which his department can help with:
