Mobile phone company Sure has applied to replace a mast in Castletown, warning its current equipment can't keep up with new technology.
The company's applied for planning permission to replace the 45-foot mast at the Manx Utilities substation on Malew Road.
In its application, it says it wants to put up a slimline lattice tower to replace it - adding the new tower would be able to support the equipment it needs.
And it adds the new kit it needs for the future can't be mounted onto the existing mast.
