A Ramsey teenager will spend a month in prison after admitting possessing a class A drug police thought was LSD.
Matthew John George Williams of May Hill appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse via a live video link from prison.
He pleaded guilty to possessing four tablets of dimethoxy chloroamphetamine in Parliament Street in Ramsey on May 12 last year.
The court heard police searched the 18 year old just before 11.30pm and discovered the tablets in a plastic bag in his pocket.
He told police it was LSD, but later tests showed it was another class A drug known as 'Doc'.
Magistrates fined him £500 and ordered him to pay £50 in costs - but told him he would serve 30 days in prison because he had no means of paying.
